Man Goes On Spitting Rampage
March 21, 2008
MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER CO. —
A Lancaster County man is facing criminal charges accused of running through a restaurant and spitting on customers.
It happened on Thursday night at the Chuck E Cheese on the Fruitville Pike in Manheim Township.
Police said 45-year-old David Eckenrode started running through the restaurant spitting on people and yelling "I have Hepatitis C."
"It really did alarm everybody that was inside there. In today's day and age, you have to be very, very careful of what you're saying in public places so that you don't cause a chaotic scene," said Sgt. Thomas Rudzinski, of the Manheim Township Police Dept.
Restaurant management closed the store as a precaution.
Customers are not believed to be in any risk of contracting the disease.
Eckenrode is facing charges of disorderly conduct, and police said additional charges could be filed.
